Parliament stated it had been co-operating together with the NBI from the investigation into the assault. “The cyberattack on parliament is a significant assault on the democracy and Finnish society,” Speaker Anu Vehvilainen stated in an announcement.

Neither the speaker of parliament nor the National Bureau of Investigation gave some specifics of exactly what information was missing if any, or when the attack was, aside from stating it had been in the fall.

“The act isn’t accidental. At this phase, there’s a chance that anonymous actors have managed to acquire information throughout the hacking, possibly for the sake of a foreign nation or to hurt Finland,” Tero Muurman, chief inspector in NBI reported in a statement. While Finland has witnessed a range of broad denial of service attacks on state IT infrastructure within the previous decades, shutting down sites for many hours, Muurman reported that this has been of greater concern.

“This situation is outstanding in Finland, severe because of the caliber of the goal and unfortunate for its sufferers,” he explained. Parliament stated it had been co-operating together with the NBI from the investigation into the assault.

“The cyberattack parliament is a significant assault on the democracy and about Finnish society,” Speaker Anu Vehvilainen stated in a statement.
